Richard L. Howard, 42, of 2607 Soapstone Drive, Reston, Va., died Saturday at 5:45 a.m. suddenly at the Fairfax (Va.) Hospital of an apparent ruptured aneurysm.
He was born in East Liverpool Dec. 20, 1944, a son of Mrs. Eleanor Hester Howard of East Liverpool and the late Richard Howard.
A resident of Reston the past four years, he was vice president of Marketing for Barlow Inc. of Falls Church. He was graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1963, and later was graduated for Pepperdine University in California. He had attended Texas A & M University and Youngstown University.
Mr. Howard served as a pilot of F-4 fighter jets with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict, and was discharged as a Captain. While residing in East Liverpool he was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Jabe Michael Howard, at home, and a brother, Michael E. Howard of Shreveport, La.
