Wilma Jean (Musser) Ayres, of Newport, NC, formerly of New Brighton, passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, OH.

Born July 9, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Alfred M. Sr. and Violet Musser. Wilma started her career at the Beaver Falls Hot Dog Shoppe, then worked at the Beaver County Courthouse snack bar and retired from the snack bar at Hill’s Department Store. She had been a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, George L. Ayres Sr.; three sons, George L. (Marggie Gaus) Ayres Jr., Beaver Falls; Edward J. (Joyce) Ayres, Newport, NC, and Gene E. (Kathy Days) Ayres, Pine Knoll, NC; two daughters, Donna (Angel) Torres, Rochester, and Regina Kinter, Newport, NC; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna, Edinburg, PA, and Sue, Kentucky; two brothers, John Musser, Darlington, and Richard Howard, Beaver Falls, and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert Berarducci and Alfred ‘Sonny’ Musser, and two sisters, Violet ‘Cookie’ and Alfreda Eichler.

Friends will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, http://www.jjsprattfh.com.

Cremation will take place after the funeral.
