Philip Demuth, aged 76, of Broadway, died Sunday morning (October 29, 1911), at 6 o’clock, at the home of his son Harry, of Rochester, Pa.

Mr. Demuth was born in Canal Dover, Ohio, and lived there until nearly 50 years of age, when he moved to this city.

Until lately he owned a large grocery store here since which he has been engaged in the express business.

A lifelong member of the Methodist Episcopal church, he was always consistent in church work and attendance.

He was respected by all who knew him.

Besides the son mentioned above, deceased is survived by two other sons, Charles W., of this city, and Phillip E. of Cumberland, Md., also three daughters, Mrs. Frank Feyler, of Rochester, Pa.; Mrs. Edward Schneider and Mrs. Willis Stewart, both of this city, also two brothers, Peter of Alton, Ill., and John of Milwaukee, Wis.

The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
