Henry Eardley, aged 71 years, died Tuesday (September 8, 1903) morning at his home in Gardendale from the infirmities incident to old age. The funeral services will be held at the house Thrusday afternoon after which the body will be interred at Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Eardley was a miner by occupation, although in recent years he has not worked. He was born at Smallthorne, England, coming to this country when a young man. For some time he lived at Salineville but for the past 13 years has been a resident of this city.

The deceased was a man of honesty and character and well liked by those who knew him. He leaves a wife and the following children: Elijah Eardley, bench boss at the Union pottery; John Eardley, of Perth, Ind.; Mrs. Ed Powell, of Cecil, Pa.; Mrs. Emma Cox, Mrs. George Johnson and Mrs. Matthew Mills, of Gardendale.
