Wilma R. Edgell, 64, mother of eight
NEW CUMBERLAND – Wilma Ruth Edgell, 64, of Eden valley, New Cumberland, died Tuesday, May 18, 1993, in the Weirton Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 9, 1928, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Stella (Fisher) Porter. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Carl Edgell and Terry Edgell; two brothers, William Porter and Charles Porter; and a sister, Evelyn Hoder.
She was retired from the maintenance department at Mountaineer Park and was a Protestant by faith.
Surviving are her husband, Dewey Edgell; four daughters, Judy Cooper and Jeanette Hughes, both of New Cumberland, and Karen Persina and Tammy Edgell, both of Follansbee; two sons, James Edgell of Rayland, Ohio, and David Edgell of St. Clairsville, Ohio; two brothers, Carl Porter and Eugene Porter, both of New Cumberland; five sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Lucille) Narcavish and Mrs. Camillo (Betty Lou) Rossi, both of New Cumberland, Mrs. Charles (Thelma) DiMino of Weirton, Mrs. Earl (Martha) Boggs of Irondale, Ohio, and Mrs. Gerald (Edith) Hoftutler of New Brighton, Pa.; and nine grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Fields Funeral Home, New Cumberland, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Terry Burgess officiating. Interment in New Cumberland Cemetery, New Cumberland.
