Reverend Archie Allen Fetty

FETTY, Reverend Archie Allen, Sr., 96, of Weirton, W.Va., died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in Weirton Medical Center.

He was born March 31, 1912, in St. Marys, W.Va., a son of the late Charles William and Nancy Ellen Bailey Fetty.

He was a member of the Colliers Nazarene Church and First Church of the Nazarene. He was retired as an Engineer in the Blooming Mill of the Steel Works Department of Weirton Steel; and was a retired preacher of 53 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harry, Cecil, Bernard, Junior and Russell Fetty; sisters, Eleanor North, Ruby Peters, Edith Elder, Hazel Garner, Maggie Fetty and Beatrice Martin; grandchildren, Mark Andrew and Amanda Joy Fetty and Steven Smith; and great-grandchild, Adam Smith.

Surviving are his wife, Sara Elizabeth Shingleton Fetty, whom he married on November 26, 1935, in Bens Run, W.Va.; daughter, Jo Ann Rinaldi (Jim) of Weirton; son, Archie “Sonny” Fetty, Jr. (Lisa) of Weirton; brother, Donald Fetty (Patricia) of St. Marys; sisters, Micha Tennant of Wellsburg, W.Va., and Velma Hall of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchil dren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Friends received at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Rd., Weirton, on Friday, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.

Additional visitation on Saturday, May 3, 2008, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., at the First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton, W.Va., with the Reverend Dr. Larry Hooper and the Reverend Milo Baker officiating.

Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
