Obituary – Hance Fowler

Hance Fowler, an aged and well known resident of Grant district, Hancock county,W.VA died unexpectedly at home near Washington School house yesterday(30,Dec,1897). Deceased was confined to bed only one day, although his health had been failing for about a year.
Four children, all residing in Grant district, survive. They are: Albert, Pink, Aggie and Mrs John Allison. The funeral will occur at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. Interment in the Flats cemetery at Fairview.
Messr. C.A. Fowler and Patterson Fowler of this city, are nephews of the deceased. Mr. Fowler was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church.
Note: Thomas Hanson Fowler(Hance) was born 17,Apr,1828 in Hancock Co. WV, s/o Richard Fowler & Elizabeth Baker married Mary Isaphene Allison 19,Mar,1851 in Hancock Co. WV.
