CHARLES GREEN

Charles C. Green of Fredericktown died Thursday at 9:15 p.m. at the Griffin Rest Home in Wellsville, where he was a patient two years. He was 90.

Born Dec. 23, 1866, in Fredericktown, the son of the late Arthur and Isabel MacFarland Green, he was married in 1909 to the former Minnie Smith, who survives. He was a member of the Christian Church at Fredericktown.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lorena Kiehl of Rogers; three sons, Floyd Green of Negley, Ray Green of East Palestine and Clarence Green of Fredericktown; a sister, Mrs. Mary Daily of Fredericktown and 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the VanDyke Funeral Home at East Palestine by the Rev. Robert Dyke.

Burial will be in Jackman Cemetery at Fredericktown. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening.

NOTE: There are two mistakes in this obituary. He married Minnie Smith in 1890 and not in 1909. And Minnie did not survive him. She actually died in 1909. Charles is buried in the Jackman Cemetery but there is no tombstone for him.
