Josiah Green, 95, Civil War veteran, died yesterday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Farrish, 926 Kent Street. Mr. Green was born in Calcutta, but spent most of his life in East Liverpool. He served during the war with Company H, Sixth Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He leaves four sons and five daughters: William S. and Bart H. Green, Sebring; Henry Green, Akron; Joseph E. Green, East Liverpool; Mrs. Caylette Kent, Los Angeles, CA; Mrs. Nan Irwin, Mrs. Melissa Herron, Mrs. Olive Heydenrich and Mrs. Mina Farrish, all of East Liverpool. Private funeral services will be held in the home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, in charge of Rev. Frederic A. Dean, D.D., pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Long’s Run cemetery.
Note: Josiah was the son of Joseph and Nancy (Bolan/Boland) Green and was married to Margaret Neiland 28 Jun 1855 in Beaver County, PA.
