Obituary – Lycurgus Green

Lisbon, Sept. 16.-Lycurgus H. Green, an aged and highly respected resident of Lisbon, died at his home on North Jefferson street at 5 o’clock Saturday morning (September 16, 1911) of dropsy and other complications after an illness covering four weeks. On August 29, last, Mr. Green celebrated his 82 birthday. He was born in Lisbon, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Holland Green, pioneer residents of this city, and has lived all of his life here. He was a soldier of the Civil war, and a charter member of Star Post, G. A. R., of this city. When a young man he was united in marriage with Ann Eliza Briggs, who with one son and one daughter, William Green of Cleveland, and Mrs. W. L. Lodge of this city, survives him. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
