Obituary – Mrs. Rebecca Grosshans

Mrs. Rebecca Grosshans, aged 78 years, one of the city’s most prominent and highly esteemed ladies, died at her late home in Oakland, East End, at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon (August 18, 1911), following a several months’ illness.
Mrs. Grosshans was born in the vicinity of Fredericktown, O., and with the exception of a few years spent in the west, has been a lifelong resident of this county. For the past several years, deceased had resided in this city. Early in life she became affiliated with the Presbyterian church and was a faithful worker in behalf of the First church of this city, of which she was a member. Her husband, John Grosshans, died 11 years ago.
The following children survive, Mrs. Elizabeth J. Anderson, J. B. Grosshans, Frank E. Grosshans, and Hollis E. Grosshans, all of this city.
Funeral services over the remains will be held from the home of her son, Frank E. Grosshans, Pope avenue, North Side, at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev E. M. McMillin, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment will be made in the Riverview cemetery.
Friends may view the remains at the Grosshans home on Pope avenue, between the hours of 7 and 10 this evening.
