Guzzetta, Joseph
Joseph Guzzetta, 80, a resident of 3232 Elm street, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday following an illness of one year.
He was born February 18, 1881, in St. Catherine, Sicily, a son of the late Alphonso and Jennie Guzzetta, and lived in Weirton since coming 1913 coming from Rochester, New York.
He was a barber by trade, prior to retirement, and was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic church and the Weirton Barber Association.
His survivors include five sons, Dominic, Alphonso, Matthew, Alfred and Albert all of Weriton; two daughters, Mrs. Jennie (DiGiacinto) DiCinto of Weirton and Miss Josephine Guzzetta at home; two brothers, Thomas and Matthew of Rochester, and one sister, Mrs. Cora Amico of Rochester; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Trovolto, on January 11, 1943; and one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Tronti in 1946.
Friends may call at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main street, after 7:30 p.m. today.
A requiem high mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Paul’s church with Rev. Fr. Peter Teigue as celebrant.
Burial will be made at St. Paul’s cemetery.
