Beaver Falls Evening Tribune – September 10, 1945

Jesse L. Kerr, of Massillon, Ohio former resident of Beaver Falls, died early Sunday morning (September 9, 1945) at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Harmon, 2830 Lincoln Way, followng a lingering illness. Mr. Kerr, who was 87 years of age (born August 1, 1858) was a member of the Beaver Falls Methodist church. He was employed as a ticket agent for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company at Salem, Ohio and Beaver Falls, retiring in 1929.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harmon and Mrs. Inez Rich of St. Paul, Minn, and a son, Frank Kerr of Alliance, Ohio. Thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at the Arbaugh-Pierce Funeral Home in Salem, Ohio at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon and burial will be made in the cemetery at Damascus, Ohio. The body will be taken from Mrs. Harmon’s home in Massillon Tuesday in time for services in Salem.

Alliance Review – September 10, 1945

Jesse L. Kerr, 87, a retired Pennsylvania Railroad Company employee and father of Frank Kerr of Alliance, died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Thomas (Hannah) Harmon in Massillon after a lingering illness.

Mr. Kerr was formerly a ticket agent at the Pennsylvania Railroad station in Salem, retiring in 1930.

He is also survived by another daughter, Mrs. Inez Rich of St. Paul, Minn., and 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His wife, Rose Greenamyer Kerr, died three years ago.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Arbaugh-Pierce Funeral Home in Salem. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Harmon residence in Massillon. Interment will be made in Damascus.
