Caroline Kesinger, 102, of Lakeland, Fla., passed on Jan. 22, 2013.
A daughter of William and Caroline Graetz, she grew up in Bucyrus, Ohio.
She was a basketball star at Bucyrus High School, attended Capital University, and graduated from Grant School of Nursing.
In 1939 she married Dr. Herbert Kesinger. They settled in Sandusky, where Dr. Kesinger established an ophthalmology practice. Caroline was a loving wife and mother, a literacy and hospital volunteer, and an avid golf, bridge and Scrabble player.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Kristin Bennett; and six siblings.
She is survived by one daughter, Ellen (John) Tietjen, of Ohio; one son, Michael (Nancy) Kesinger, of Florida; son-in-law, Mike (Renee) Bennett, of Mississippi; grandchildren, Kyle (Dody) Bennett, of Florida, Monica (Will) Bunker, of California, Damien Tietjen, of California, Hal (Cari) Holbrook, of Florida, and Wendi (Rich) Whited, of Florida; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will take place at a later date. Her final resting place is Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky
