Mrs. Mary Jane Koehler, aged 52 years, wife of Ernest M. Koehler of 41 Fourth Avenue, Freedom, died Sunday evening (April 17, 1949) in Rochester General Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born November 16, 1896 in Crow’s Run, a daughter of the late William H. and Minnie Javens Bailey and had lived in the community all her life. Mrs. Koehler was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and it’s Eubonia Society and of Ada Dever Rebekah Lodge.

She leaves her husband; two daughters Mrs. Robert (Kathryn) Rich, Freedom and Miss Lenore Koehler, Freedom; one son, Ernest W. Koehler at home and four grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Miller, Beaver Falls, Mrs. Dora Dickinson, Ingram, Mrs. Esther Webster, New Cumberland, WV and Mrs. Gladys Chapman, Freedom and three brothers, George and Charles Bailey, New Cumberland and Harry Bailey, Beaver Falls. Friends will be received in the Gross Funeral Home, Freedom after 7 o’clock this evening. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.
