CHESTER – Patricia Ann Guiddy Kokochak, 67, of Chester, passed away on May 28, 2013, at Shadyside Hospital.

Patricia was born on Aug. 19, 1945, in Avella, Pa. She was preceded in death by her father, John Guiddy; and her husband, L. David Kokochak.

Patricia graduated from Burgettstown High School in 1963. Immediately following high school, Patricia began working at Weirton Steel as a secretary.

Patricia married David on Oct. 22, 1966. She became a full time homemaker until 1985 when Patricia and David opened their first business, Prestige Coins and Gold Jewelry. She became interested in numismatics after spending time around the hobby with her husband. She was also the president of Prestige Pawn Shop, Inc., a business in Weirton and Chester. She managed two shopping plazas in Hancock County, one in Chester and one in Newell. She ran and managed Prestige Self Storage in Chester. She also enjoyed going to Florida, playing with her grandson and boating on the river, even though she did not know how to swim. And she was never seen around town without her favorite companion, her dog Molly, by her side.

She is survived by her mother, Martha Crow Guiddy; one brother, John Guiddy and his wife Gerri; two sisters, Marie Bettino, Joy Kasprzak and her husband Bob; one half sister, Liz Hilderbrand and her husband Carl; one daughter, Jennifer Alexandrea Johnson, her husband Gregory Scott; one grandson, Tyler Dylan; six nephews, John Guiddy, Donnie Flaherty, Brian Kasprzak, his wife Heather and their daughter Kennslee, Eric Mankowski and his wife Jodi, George Mankowski, his wife Rebecca and their children Ella and Adam, Aaron Mankowski, his wife Paula and their children, Ethan and Amelia; six nieces, Kathy Filler and her children Zachary and Samantha, Elizabeth Guiddy, Toni Guiddy, Stephanie Kappel and her husband Gary, Mary Bettino and her children Elizabeth and Evan, Alisa Hannah, her husband, Eric and their children Alex and Zachary, Lori Gettle and her husband Josh and Alexandra Powell and her husband David.

The Rev. Phil Dukes will conduct a memorial service on Friday, May 31, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where the family will be present to receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society or the Salvation Army in Patricia’s name.
