WELLSVILLE-Betty “Peaches” Korbel, 73, of Wellsville, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

Born March 24, 1940 in Wellsville, Ohio; she was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Zearley Jackson.

She was a member of the Wellsville Eagles.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Grafton; two grandchildren, Billy Reid, Christopher Singletary; and two brothers, Luther Jackson, Ferry Jackson and a sister, Emma Jean Martin.

Surviving are five daughters, Tracey Reid of Wellsville, Roxann Boone of Medina, Paula Jewell of Leetonia, Bonnie Jackson of Wisconsin and Connie Merriman of Wellsville; three sons, Leonard Mercer of Alliance, James Mercer of North Carolina and Aaron Korbel of Wellsville; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Violet Reardon of East Liverpool, Marian Perkins and Margaret Dodson both of Wellsville; Mary Thomas of East Liverpool; Phyllis Jackson of Lisbon, Sally Pinz of Louisville, Cynthia Morris of Lisbon and Rebecka Groves of Tennessee; and a brother, Jerry Jackson of Wellsville.

Visitation will be held at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, W.Va., tonight Friday, May 17, 2013, from 5-8 p.m with funeral services at 8 p.m.
