Joseph F. Kreidler, 77, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday evening, Aug. 22, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center following an illness.
He was born Nov. 19, 1934, in Sandusky, son of the late John and Helen (Kaupp) Kreidler.
Joe was a U.S Navy veteran at the end of the Korean War. He was a DeVry University graduate. Joe was a salesman at Mathews Ford in Sandusky retiring in 2009 after 42 years of service.
Joe was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky AMVETS Post 17, Sandusky American Legion Post 83, and the Sandusky Yacht Club. He enjoyed woodworking, music, life, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife Mary Fran (Blank) whom he married May 4, 1968; his children, Jacqueline (Philip) Neff, of Toledo, and Kristy (Keith) Pegg, of Laguna Niguel, Calif.: four grandchildren, Jocelyn, Elijah, Caden and Kinley; one sister Mary Lou (Bernie) Yemc, of Wilmington, Del.; two brothers, Robert (Renata) Kreidler, of Washington State, Leo (Marie) Kreidler, of North Canton, Ohio; his sister-in-law Kathy Kreidler, of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Including his parents, Joe was preceded in death by one sister Catherine Kreidler, and two brothers, Leonard and Jacob Kreidler.
Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Jason Kahle will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
