William C. Lee

William C. Lee, 80, of 122 W. 3rd. St., a former potter, died Thursday at 10:45 p.m. at City Hospital after an illness of three weeks.

A World War I Army veteran, Mr. Lee was born in Marietta, July 31, 1886, a son of the late James Lee and Angeline Brown Lee. He had resided in this vicinity since 1917. He was a kilndrawer at the former Edwin M. Knowles China Co., for 25 years and last worked in 1950.

He was a life member and oldest member of American Legion Post 374 and an honorary member of the IBOP.

He is survived by a son, William C. Lee Jr., of Lisbon R. D. 2; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Smith of East Liverpool; two step-daughters, Mrs. Robina Deets of East Liverpool and Mrs. Roy (Ellen) Broadbent of Sebring; two brothers, Edward Lee of East Liverpool and Harvey Lee of Marietta; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His wife, Mrs. Maude Lee, died April 16, 1965.

Services will by held Monday at 2p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. E. C. Traylor, minister of the First Church of Christ. Burial will be in Calcutta United Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and night.
