Eugene “Genie” Love of New Brighton was born January 1927 to the late George Royal and Bertha Mae Gibson Love and passed from this life to his eternal reward Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at the Rochester Manor and Villa in Rochester, PA.
He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him, because he never met a stranger.
Genie had a great love for music and would entertain the staff, residents and volunteers at Rochester Manor and Villa with his singing, dancing, playing the piano or picking the guitar. He played all types of music, country and western, hip hop or the blues, it was all music to him. Genie and his daughter, Lorraine, would sing for hours, though legally blind it did not hinder his ability to play the piano or pick the guitar.
Eugene would go with his mother to hear evangelist AA Allen and Kathrun Kuhlman, and attend services at Wayman Chapel.
He is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Bassinger of Portland, Maine; sons, Glen Hill, Lisle, Ill. and Leonard Hill of Ellwood city, and his only surviving sister, Bernice Pickens of Columbus, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Royal Love and Bertha Mae Gibson Love, 2 brothers, George and William Love, and three sisters, Maxine Kimbrough, Josephine Love and Pauline Lewis.
Eugene will be sadly missed by his children, nieces, hephews and a host of friends and relatives.
Friends will be received Monday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am in the LEAVELL FUNERAL HOME, 721 Seventh St, Beaer Falls. Ronald and Mary Cuspard will officite.
Interment will be private.
