Jeanette ‘Nettie’ Noland, 96

CHESTER – Jeanette “Nettie” Noland, 96, of Pyrmas Street, died at the Fox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, where she had resided since 1989.

A daughter of the late William and Nora Blazer Marshall, she was born in Madison Township, Ohio, on December 19, 1906.

A livelong area resident, she attended Chester Schools and was an avid crocheter. She was a member of the Chester First Christian Church, where she was active in the Loyal Daughters Class and the former NMI group.

Her Husband, Alonzo Noland, preceded her in death along with a brother, James Williams and three sisters, Pearl Wilson, Mary Jackson, and Hazel Ada. Her stepfather, James Williams, by whom she was raised, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a sister, Edna Hulme of Chester; a brother, Homer Williams of Stephensville, Texas; six nieces; and five nephews.

The Rev. Denise Arnold of the West Liberty Christian Church will officiate services Thursday at 1 p.m. at Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Interment will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends and family may call today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

It has been suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Chester First Christian Church, 330 Indiana Ave., Chester, WV 26034
