ALLEN OSBURN, 78, of Jefferson St., Newell passed away Friday, March 19, 1999 at Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittburgh following a brief illness.
He was born February 8, 1921 in Newell, a son of the late Gallier and Stella (Full) Osburn.
He was a retired employee of Crucible Steel where he worked as a Millwright for 28 years. He was a Nazarene by faith, a member of the Chester American Legion Post #121 and the Chester VFW Post #6450. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theater.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Ward) Osburn whom he married in 1942; two daughnters Mrs. Frank (Barbara) Quick of Newell and Donna Roush of Hampton, VA; two brothers, Carl Osburn of Newell and Fred Osburn of East Liverpool; two sisters, Mrs. Eldred (Jean) Cornell of Chester and Mrs. Jack (Betty) Connelly of Huntington Beach, CA; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, March 22, 1999 at 11:00 am.m at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester with Reverend Carl D. Smith officiating. Burial followed at the Locust Hill Cemetery. Graveside honors accorded by Tri-State Veterans Burial Group.
