MAN DIES FROM STRANGE CAUSE
Baseball Accident of Some Time Ago, Believed to Have Caused Death of Harry Owen.
Harry Owen, 25, for many years a resident of Clarkson and who left that hamlet for Beaver Falls, Pa., three years ago, died yesterday (Jul. 30, 1911) at the Beaver Valley General hospital as the result of a most peculiar accident happening several weeks ago.
Owen engaged in a baseball game and in running to first base after making a hit, collided with another player. His skull was slightly fractured at the time, and he was removed to the hospital over two weeks ago.
However, sudden illness Monday again sent Owen to the hospital. This time the illness terminated in a fatality, the unfortunate young man growing rapidly worse until death relieved his sufferings. Owen is married and has several children, a mother at Clarkson and brother, Walter, in the East End, this city. His father, Harry Owen, until the time of his death, conducted a tannery at Clarkson.
