LISBON – Mrs. Jessie C. Powell, 88, of 43195 Buckeye Road died at 4:45 a.m. Monday at the Windsor Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

She was born Nov. 23, 1898, in Marietta, a daughter of George and Margaret Roush Beaver, and had resided most of her life in this area.

Mrs. Powell had been a ceramic specialties finisher 17 years in East Liverpool area potteries. Her husband, Gene V. Powell, whom she married Oct. 16, 1914, died April 2, 1973.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Alberta) Orr of Glenmoor, Mrs. Lucille McCullough, with whom she resided, and Mrs. Chauncey (Wilda) Boone of Salineville; two sons, Clinton Powell of Beaver, Pa., and Menard Powell of Lisbon; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home by the Rev. Gordon Hall of the West Point Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in West Beaver Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
