Henry Queer died at his home on Hill Street last night (February 14, 1901) after several weeks’ illness.

He was about 70 years of age, a gallant soldier of the Civil War, a member of Henry Cope Post G.A.R. of this city and a constant member of the Christian Church.

During the war, he was a member of the Twelfth West Virginia Infantry, Company I and received a severe wound at the Battle of New Market in which he also lost a brother, Jacob Queer at that battle.

He leaves a family and a number of children. Funeral services at his residence Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and the remains will be deposited in a vault at Spring Hill Cemetery and later will be removed to New Cumberland Cemtery, New Cumberland, WV.
