Roland Rogers
Roland M. Rogers, 79, of 226 Louisiana Ave., Chester, died Tuesday at 4 p.m. at City Hospital of natural causes. He was born near Chester March 31, 1907, a son of the late Howard B. Rogers and Elizabeth Allison Rogers. He was employed 30 years as a millwright at the Homer Laughlin China Co. before retiring, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He is survived at home by his wife, Catherine Bennett Rogers, whom he married June 20, 1935; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Anne Johnston of Chester and Mrs. Reberta Lynn Atkinson of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Letha Minor of Chester; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The Rev. Clark Allison of the Wellsville First Church of the Nazarene is to conduct services Friday at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Burial is to be in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel tonight from 7 to 9 and Thursday afternoon and evening.
