Obituary – John K. Rush

John K. Rush, secretary of the East End China company, died yesterday morning (November 29, 1905) at his home in Thompson avenue, after a prolonged illness. He had been a great sufferer and although the best physicians were consulted and he underwent several operation he obtained no relief.
Mr. Rush was born in Fayette county, Pa. (August 12, 1863) and spent his early life there. He graduated of the state normal school of Indiana , Pa., and later in life spent several years as a teacher. For 10 or 12 years he was engaged by a Chicago publishing firm as a writer of biographies and historical matter for county histories. He came to East Liverpool eight years ago and became secretary of the Globe Pottery company. When the East Liverpool Potteries company was formed he became bookkeeper for the concern. Upon the dissolution of the combine he joined the East End China company.
Mr. Rush was married in Salem ten years ago to Sarah K. Lawrence of that city. She survives him with three children, Lawrence, George and Robert. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and stood high among his associates.
The funeral service will be held at the home Friday afternoon, the Rev E. M. McMillin officiating. Interment private at a later hour.
