Al Thompson, 68
LISBON – Al Thompson, 68, of Thomas Road died at 6:29 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 1994, at the Salem Community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Alliance March 11, 1926, a son of the late Ralph N. and Leona Roessler Thompson. The owner and operator of Al’s Corner Movie in Larry Czonka’s 76 Gas Station in Lisbon since July 1983, he was the owner of the Corner Movie in Lisbon and in Columbiana six years earlier. He was employed 29 years at the Diamond Chain Co. before retiring in 1991 as district sales manager, He served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from the Melvindale (Mich.) High School in 1943. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 411.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Lutton Thompson, whom he married August 11, 1950; two daughters, Miss Jill E. Thompson and Melissa M. Thompson of Lisbon; and a son, Terry N. Thompson of Alamo, California. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Weber Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
