RETIRED WARE EMPLOYE DIES
Clarence Edward Van Fossen, 68, of 31 1st Street, Newell, WV, died Monday, August 22, 1960 at 1:15 pm at home following a long illness.
He was born October 31, 1891, in Noble Co., Ohio. A son of John Willard Van Fossen of Parkersburg, West Virginia and the late Lydia Crum Van Fossen who died in April 1959.
He has resided in Newell for 12 years. He was a laborer at Edwin M. Knowles China Co., until retiring in 1957 because of his health. He was a member of the IBOP and the Methodist Church at Mason City.
Besides his father, survivors include his widow, Mrs. Icy Nettie Parsons Van Fossen at Home; 2 daughters, Mrs. Nettie Rowand of Newell, West Virginia and Mrs. Agnes Duncan of Leetonia, Ohio; 1 son, Charles Van Fossen of East Liverpool, Ohio; 3 brothers, Joseph Van Fossen of Chester, West Virginia, James Van Fossen of Parkersburg West Virginia and George Van Fossen of Fairmont, West Virginia; 1 sister, Mrs. Sadie Lent of Leroy, West Virginia and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2pm at the East Liverpool Arner Home for Funerals by the Rev. Cecil O. Dotson of Chester Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery, Chester, West Virginia.
