LEVI M. VOTAW
Levi M. Votaw, aged 82 years, a veteran of the Civil War and a lifelong resident of Guilford where he was engaged in farming, died at his home there at 8 o’clock Thursday evening following a brief illness, death being due to complications.
Deceased was born in Guilford, May 22, 1834, and spent his entire life there. He was a member of Trescott post No. 10, G. A. R., of Salem, and served four years with Co. C, Sixth Ohio Volunteer Cavalry.
One sister, Mrs. Mary Ingram, of Salem, and four brothers, Morris, of Guilford; John, of Pittsburgh; Emerson, at home, and Charles, of this city, survive.
Funeral service over the remains will be held at the late home in Guilford at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will be made at Woodsdale.
NOTE: He is buried in the Woodsdale Cemetery out by Guilford Lake, Columbiana County, Ohio.
