Eileen M. Walker, 88

Chester – Eileen M. Walker, 88, of Plutus Avenue, Chester, passed away at 6:54 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at the Stone Pear Pavilion of the Fox Nursing Home following a two week stay. Born in Youngstown on April 21, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Carl McConnell, and the late Margaret Allison McConnell Bartley. She had been associated for 25 years at National Church Supply, retiring in 1978. A member of the American Legion Post 121 Auxiliary at one time, she attended the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chester. Preceding her in death was her husband, Emery E. Walker, who died in May 1978. Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Strosnider of Chester; one son, Karl Walker of Silver Spring, Md,; along with two granddaughters, Linda Lee Nicoles and her husband Jon, of Chester, and Keri A. Larson and her husband Aaron, of West Point. There is one great – grandchild due this February. She is also survived by two sisters in Florida, Bartine Pike and Betty Varner. Mrs. Walker was also preceded in death on July 23, 1962, by a daughter, Linda Lee Walker, and three brothers, Ollie, George, and Harry Bartley. Friends may call Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Reverend Katrina Lewis of the church will conduct services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, after which family and friends will gather in fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
