COLUMBIANA – JAMES E. WELCH, 62, formerly of Cohoes, N.Y., died suddnely Saturday night at 11:45 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. E. Friegman of Petersburg, O., whom he was visiting.
Born Nov. 20, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Welch of Hampton, N.Y., Mr. Welch spent much of his life in Salem and Rogers.
At one time he was superintendent of the Cohoes Rolling mills. He was a member ot the Cohoes Christian church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs Grace Simpkins of Columbiana, Mrs. Daisy Baker of New Springfield, O., and Mrs. Ruth Friegman of Petersburg; two sons, Edwin Welch of Long Island, N. Y., and Merle Welch of Cohoes; four sisters, Mrs. Maud Davis and Mrs. Mable Cox of Harvey. Ill., Mrs. Edith Weaver of Franklin, N.Y.; two brothers, Guy Welch of Harvey and Charles Welch of Michigan, 14 grandchilden and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in the Warrick funeral home here at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon and burial will be in Columbiana cemetery. Rev. Surles of the Petersburg Lutheran church will be in charge.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening.
