Virginia (Young) Wilkins, 90, Sandusky, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in Providence Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Virginia was born June 30, 1922, in Sandusky, to Ralph and Ethel (Link) Young.

She was a 1939 graduate of Sandusky High School. Virginia was employed by Sandusky Foundry and Machine Co. from 1939-1947. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society. Virginia was also a member of the Sunshine Society, I.A.B. Club, Nifty 50’s, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

Virginia is survived by her two children, Kathleen MacDonald, of Smyrna, Del., and Scott (Kathryn) Wilkins, Royal Oak, Mich.; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilkins, Peter Wilkins, Paul (Pong) MacDonald, Glen (Megan) MacDonald, Ian (Jennifer) MacDonald, and Courtney MacDonald; one brother, Ralph (Mary Jane) Young; two nieces, and one nephew.

Including her parents Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elbur Wilkins in 1992; and her brother, Richard Young.

Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. mass of Christian burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave. Sandusky. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
