Paul J. Wright, 86, of Bell Acres Boro, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 23, 1926, in Sewickley, PA, a son of Jesse R. Wright and Anna Smolinsky Wright. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, retired from the American Bridge Co. after 40 years of service, was a member of the Amateur Radio Association and the NRA. Paul enjoyed his home, his family and was kept busy by a wide range of interests and hobbies. He loved his dog, Angel, and his granddogs, Ginger and Glory.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Theresa (nee: Pochyba) Wright; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa A. (Randy) Bodnar, Wexford and Cathy L. (Andrew) Thein, Sewickley; grandchildren, Andrew R. and Jessy L. Thein, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul A. Wright, and a brother, Clair Wright.
Friends will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012. Time pending. Interment with military honors will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942.
Paul’s family would like to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
