Engaged in repairing a pump at his home in New Cumberland shortly before 8 o’clock last evening, W. B. ROBB, aged 72, a lifelong resident of Hancock county, was suddenly stricken with heart disease and died within a few minutes before medical attention could be obtained.

With the othbreak of the Civil war he enlisted in Company J, Twelfth Virginia regiment, and served in a majority of the battles between the “Blue” the “Gray.” He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic.
The deceased was a charter member of the New Cumberland lodge of Odd Fellows and was perhaps the oldest member of that organization in the county. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of New Cumberland.
