Colonel Michael V. Waggle, 42, of Andrews Air Force Base, MD, died Sunday, September 30, 2012.
Born November 15, 1969, in Steubenville, OH, Michael was a son of Emily Johnson Waggle of Weirton and the late Harlen Waggle.
Michael was a Colonel in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Weir High School, in 1988 and went on to garner three recommendations for appointment to the USAF Academy. He graduated from the Academy in 1992 and began a 20 year military career that took him all over the world. His deployments include tours in Kosovo and Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star for work accomplished during oversight of oil reconstruction contracts.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his wife, Major Sandra Sandoval Waggle of Andrews Air Force Base ad their son, Harlen Waggle; a brother, Doug (Cecilia) Waggle of Dripping Springs, TX.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman
Catholic Church, 200 Preston Avenue, Weirton.
Fr. Richard Davis, T.O.R. will preside
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery
