Donald L. Carpenter, 79, of Newell passed away Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Medical Center of Beaver following a brief illness.
He was born July 5, 1929 in Chester, a son of the late Marion and Belle Johnson Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Carpenter; two brothers and a sister.
He retired as a crew leader from the former Crucible Steel in Midland. A veteran of the U. S. Military during the Korean War era, he was a life Member of the Chester American Legion Post 121 and VFW Post 6450.
He is survive by two sons, Donald Carpenter of Cincinnati, and Steve Carpenter of Newell; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
