Salem Man Killed In Car Crash

SALEM – A 29-year-old S. Lincoln Avenue, man was killed early today as a result of a one-car accident at 2:40 a.m. on W. State St., just west of Sharp Ave.
Columbiana County Coroner Dr. William Kolozsi said DANIEL M. BROWN of 1435 S. Lincoln Ave. was dead on arrival at Salem Community Hospital of multiple head and internal injuries at 3:10 a.m.. Dr. Kolozi said Brown died when his car struck and Ohio Bell telephone pole.
The Salem Police Department said Brown was westbound on W. State St. when his vehicle went out of control, struck the curb on the right side of the street, crosed over to the left side, sheared the telephone pole, struck a street sign and came to rest on ist side against a tree.
Police said Gold Cross Ambulance took Brown to the hospital where Dr. Kolozsi ruled the death a traffic fatality.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:39 p.m from the Arbaugh-Pierce-Greenisen Funeral Home by Pastor Philip Rohrbacher.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to th Diabetes Research Fund.
