Obituary – Mrs. Matilda Elliott

Mrs. Matilda Elliott, widow of the late Laughlin Elliott, esteemed resident of Beaver county, Pa., died at her home near Smith’s Ferry at 5:30 o’clock this morning (January 1, 1912). She had been ill a week with la grippe, which developed into pneumonia.
She had been a life long resident near Smith’s Ferry. She was born there March 14, 1828, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Harvey Dawson. On May 5, 1862, she was married to the late Laughlin Elliott. To the union ten children were born, four of whom are still living.
Surviving her are the following children; G. B. McClelland Elliott, of Mulville, Pa.; Patrick B., of Pittsburg, and Niles Louise and Amos Elliott, at home. The brothers and sisters of the deceases are J. H. Dawson, Bellevue; G. W. Dawson, Beaver; Amos Dawson, Smith’s Ferry; Mrs. W. J. Langford and Mrs. Abritia Riggs, both of Pittsburg. Ten grandchildren also survive.
The funeral services will be held at the home at 10:30 o’clock Sunday; interment at Beaver cemetery.
