Lisbon, Sept. 27,–Alpheus Farmer, one of the best known farmers of Salem township, died very suddenly while hauling coal from the Delmore mine at Franklin Square, Wednesday (September 27, 1911). Mr. Farmer was about 70 years of age and had all of his life lived in Salem township. He had been hauling his winter coal from the mine, and it was while he was seated in his wagon near to the tipple of the mine that death came. A physician was summoned at once, but before he arrived death had overtaken him. The body was removed to his home at once, where it was prepared for burial. The deceased was most highly respected by all who knew him and was one of the prosperous farmers of the northern part of the county. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
