EDMOND P. FIELDS, 87
FAYETTEVILLE, W. Va. – Edmond P. Fields, 87 formerly of Chester, passed away on Monday Nov. 14, at Hilltop Nursing Home in Fayette County, W. Va. following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 28, 1918, at Walton, W. Va., he was the son of the late James Robert and Iva Jones Fields.
Mr. Fields served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Crucible Steel in 1980 after 38 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, having coffee each morning with his retired buddies and most of all reading his Bible daily. He attended the Chester Church of the Nazarene.
A son, Gary fields, four sisters, and one brother, preceded Mr. Fields in death.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years. Lillian Fields of Fayetteville, W. Va., a daughter. Marilyn Payne and husband, Dale, also of Fayetteville: two sons. Larry fields and wife, Judy, of Columbus, Ohio, and Dave Fields and his wife Sabrina, of Whitesville, W. Va., one brother, Gay Fields of Coolville, Ohio, one sister, Athlene Litton of Post Falls, Idaho: seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday Nov. 17, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, with the Rev. Tim Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the Arner Funeral Home Chapel of Chester.
