David Figley, aged 76, one of the best know men in St. Clair Township, died at his home in Calcutta yesterday at noon, after an illness of nearly one year. Death was due to tuberculosis. The deceased spent nearly all his life in Calcutta and vicinity and for several years past had been engaged in the business of drilling wells, in which work he was widely known. He is survived by two sons, Claude and Edward Figley, of East Liverpool. The funeral services will be held at the late home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock and will be conducted by Rev. J.S. Garvin, pastor of the Calcutta United Presbyterian Church, who will be assisted by Rev. Henry W. Webb, pastor of the Long’s Run Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Long’s Run Cemetery.
Note: He was married to Quinn Alice Green, who died 11 Dec 1886.
