JOHN L. FLEISCHMAN, 72, of Liberty Avenue, Chester, died at home.
He was born in New Brighton, Pa., a son of the late John W. and Mary E. Denny Fleischman.
He was an area resident since 1968 moving from Center Township, Pa.
He was employed by J&L Steel of Aliquippa, Pa., for 25 years as a mill wright in the Seamless Tube Department before retiring in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Genevieve “Donna:” Fleischman, who died on July 20, 1980; and a brother, William E. Fleischman.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Mason Fleischman, whom he married on Nov. 4, 1994; four sons, Robert L. Fleischman of New Waterford, Robert J. Mayher of Dover, Fla., John W. Fleischman of Tampa, Fla., and Stewart H. Fleischman of Beaver Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Emmett (Helen Kay) Jacobs of Hodgenville, Ky., Mrs. Ray (Mary) Ruckert and Mrs. Jeff (Laura) Dietrick of Freedom, Pa. and Mrs. David (Pattianne) Heizler of Hookstown, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Evelyn) Wickman of Corona DelMar, Conn. and Mrs. John (Edna) Bass of Silver Springs, Fla.; and 20 grandchildren.
The Rev. Terry Stoops of the Cove United Presbyterian Church of Weirton will conduct services Friday at Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens.
No calling hours are planned.
The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
The Arner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
