Michael R. France, 64, Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept.16, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Fostoria, Ohio, on July 3, 1948.

Michael graduated from Sandusky High School in 1966. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a rifle sharpshooter. He was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2743, Norwalk, American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, and the Huron Township Conservation League. He loved Ford Mustangs.

Michael is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lynda (Held) France; children, Rob (Tina) France, Castalia, Stephanie Fry, Indianapolis, Ind., Greg (Lori) France, N.C., Kim (Kelvin) McKillips, Kevin Pankow, Kathy Pankow, all of Sandusky, and Kay Pankow, Toledo; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Becky, Kim, and Vicky; and brothers, Terry, Tim, and Tom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty.

Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Kathy Shuck will officiate.
Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
