EAST LIVERPOOL – Keith F. “Fish” Garner, 70, of East Liverpool, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at his home with his family by his side following a yearlong battle with cancer.

A son of the late Earl W. and Beatrice L. Potter Garner, Keith was born on Jan. 25, 1941, in East Liverpool.

Keith had an exuberant love for life and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and motorcycling with his friends.

He began his professional career in East Liverpool with the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services before transferring to the Steubenville office and assuming the duties of office manager from which he retired.

Keith graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1959 and was a member of the ELHS Alumni Assoc.

Also he was a veteran of the US Army having served during Vietnam era from 1965 until 1967.

He married the love of his life, Susan K. Wilson Garner, in 1966 and was happily married for 45 years.

In addition two brothers, Al (Suzanne K.) Garner of Toledo, and Bill Garner of Monrovia, Calif.; two nephews, John Garner of Findlay, Ohio, and Steve Garner of Pittsburgh; many other nephews and nieces and his faithful companion, Lucky, survive as well.

The Rev. Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct services on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where the family will be present to receive friends Monday afternoon and evening from noon to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. Interment will follow the Tuesday services at Riverview Cemetery in East Liverpool.
