Port Clinton
Harry T. Gebhardt, 82, of Port Clinton, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Harry was born Jan. 2, 1930, in Kalida, Ohio, to Elsie M. (Boyd) and William J. Gebhardt. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
On April 11, 1953, in Danbury Township, he married Lydia Amos and she preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 1998.
Harry worked at U.S. Gypsum for 41 years retiring in 1990 and was a member of the Port Clinton Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and reading the paper.
Survivors include her daughters, Dovie (Dan) Sehlmeyer, of Sandusky, and Marry Ellen (Jack) Butler, of Altmar, N.Y.; grandchildren, Linda (James) Below, of Avon Lake, Ohio, Cindy (Bob) Kinsey, of Oak Harbor, Matthew (Elizabeth) Scott, of Dexter, Mich., and Michael Scott, of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Ashley Sehlmeyer, Laura, Landin and Jenna Below; and special friend, Millie Nelson, of Fostoria, Ohio.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife; parents; great-grandson, Nicholas Kinsey; brothers, Nelson, Carl, Ferland and Jessie Gebhardt; half brother, Clarence Grant; sisters, Ermah Carpenter, Olive Massie, Laverne Weaver, Lois Scheller and Agnes McGlothlin.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, where funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton.
Memorial donations in memory of Harry may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
