LISBON – JESSE RAYMOND GILLESPIE, 64, of the Lisbon Hotel died at 2:30 a.m. today at Salem City Hospital, where he had been removed Wednesday. He had been in failing health for 10 years.
He was born at New Waterford June 10, 1899, to George Gillespie ad Minnie Morris Gillespie, and spent most of his life in this vicinity, employed as a bulldozer operator.
Survivors include two brothers, Alton Gillespie of Salem and Burt Gillespie of Youngstown; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Rouse of Sorento, Fla., and Mrs. Cora Clecknr of La Puente, Calif.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul T. Gerard, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
