Retired Miner Claimed At 65
Rites Planned Friday For Herold Goddard
Herold L. Goddard, 65, a retired miner, died Tuesday (November 8, 1955) at 4:30 p. m. in his home at Salineville R. D. 2 after a year’s illness.
Mr. Goddard was born in Salineville Jan. 5, 1880, a son of Winfield and Allie Goddard. He was a member of Riley’s Methodist Church, near Salineville, and the Fox Township Grange.
Mr. Goddard leaves his widow, Mrs. Villian Goddard at home; two daughters, Mrs. Verla Culp of Salem, and Mrs. June Hanley of Summitville; two sons, Burton Goddard of Martins Ferry, and Calvin Goddard of Minerva; three sisters, Mrs. Verna Burchert of Cleveland, and Mrs. Olive Johnson and Mrs. Lois Morrow, both of Salineville; a brother, Charles Goddard of Salineville, and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. in the Kerr Funeral Home at Salineville by the Rev. Wayne Hall of the Methodist Church. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the late home tonight and at the funeral home Thursday afternoon and night.
