Mr. Alfred A. Grant, Sr., 84, of 802 Butler Avenue, New Castle, former owner of the Sportsman Gun Shop in New Castle for 25 years, died Friday, May 10, 1996, at 7:30 a.m. in his home.
Born May 8, 1912 in Rochester, a son of the late Domenic and Frances Bardini Grant, he retired from the Pennsylvania Engineering Corp. after 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Vitus Church; Lawrence County Sportsmens Association; Unione Calabro Club; Coachmans Club, and Knights of Columbus Council 512.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline Aiello Grant, on June 11, 1992; a daughter Joanne Grant Walters; a grandson Domenick F. Grant; five brothers Sunday, Anthony, Charles, Frank and Albert Grant and two sisters, Rosie Grant and Adeline Tatsch.
Surviving are three children, Dominick L. Grant, New Castle; A. Grant, Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Thomas (Barbara A.) DiMuccio, New Castle; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the ED & DON DECARBO FUNERAL HOME, 941 S. Mill Street, New Castle. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday for St. Vitus Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celetrated at 10 a.m. The Rev. Father John Petrarulo, of St. Vitus Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. Vitus Cemetery.
