Alvie (Bert) Green, 81, a retired Fredericktown farmer, died Tuesday night at City Hospital following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1869, in Fredericktown, a son of Arthur and Izabelle McFarland Green. He was a member of the Negley Masonic Lodge 516 for more than 50 years. Survivors include two brothers, Charles Green of Fredericktown, and Harry Green of near Negley, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Dailey of Fredericktown. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Van Dyke Funeral Home at East Palestine by Rev. Robert Dyke. Burial will be at Jackman Cemetery, between Fredericktown and Calcutta. Friends may call Thursday night at the funeral home.
